My company is all about filling the needs of creative brides. In my recent research I felt there were not enough awesome wedding exit ideas, so with a little puzzling with my puzzler I came up with a new, fun idea! I've made clear tubes and filled them with bird seed, lavender or sprinkles. Your guests tear off the tops and shake in the sky to make it rain. My friends Dave and Julia agreed to be my guinea pigs last month at their wedding and I only had thumbs up reviews! See my full details and pricing in my store.
And please feel free to print a free sign for your big day! XO
I am very honored to be chosen to share my business stories at the Etsy Up Seller Conference in NYC next week. I will be sharing on two panels and one will be available for streaming in the future. I hope to encourage and learn from lots of sellers in the fabulous Etsy community. Pray I don't get too tongue tied with it's my turn to speak!
And of course I'm staying for a few days to have a little fun so I will need to close my store for 3 to 4 days while I'm gone as I sell too much to be away from the office. Please shop my products on my pinterest page while I'm closed and come back and buy soon. I don't want to miss any awesome weddings!
These are my final days in Portland! We'll be moving closer to some family needs in Reno, NV in ONE month. Mavora will close for two weeks to get our footing and when we reopen all of my save the date tags will be available again. My main girl Kateri will continue to print and ship bags from Portland but I have to say goodbye to the rest of my PDX girl team. I am so sad!! Nikki, Kathy, Reilly, & Melissa were such blessings to me! Now I have to make a whole new amazing crew in Reno, but I have faith it will come together. And the very best news is a bigger home, which translates into an awesome office for Mavora. I will send pictures when it's done...in like 2 years.
I was thinking a while back that I would scale down the business but somehow I find myself in a renewed state of vision and hope. Mavora grew so much in the 4 years we've been in Oregon. We're like a whole new company and I'll never forget the strides forward we took here. I can feel the love from my customers and I get to pass that on by employing amazing women to craft handmade products. I get to mentor. I get to build. And that's who I am at my core; I'm a builder. So I will just keep following this path as long as it reflects who I am and I make products that reflect who my customers are.
Thank you Portland and the fabulous people you hold. I will not be forgetting you.
We're selling a lot of favor bags right now so I thought it would be nice to offer a few free favor signs! Just click on the design titles below the sign images to download. Print on any shade card stock and frame or lean against your favor basket. I hope these help as you plan that knockout wedding! XOXO
I have a number of examples in my store for wording ideas but I've also collected a few of the most popular here. When you buy from me you get to write in any text that fits and creativity, personality, and romance is encouraged!
And these are a few of my favorite grammar tips:
(1) you don't need much punctuation, this is not a 7th grade essay. Skip periods for sure
(2) you don't need an "and" in "Two thousand and sixteen" just say "Two thousand sixteen" (capitalization correct)
(3) use "five o'clock" or "five-thirty" in the evening, unless your are going rogue
(4) leave out the zip code
(5) Don't capitalize the day; October sixth, Two thousand sixteen
I found these two sources to be very helpful when it comes to grammar:
With brides being allowed to show more and more of their creativity and personality in their wedding invitations I've had more requests to make my save the date tags into wedding invitations. Guests get a magnet reminder with the invite and couples only have to purchase and send out one invitation set. I wanted to show you a recent bride who made a wedding invite package out of my Jamaica Map Save the Dates. If this layout suits you I can work it up in any of my designs, just ask!
This weekend Kateri and I worked on a roasted nut recipe and a new design. You can find the recipe at MarthaStewart.com (we used cashews instead of almonds and they tasted awesome!). We threw the oiled nuts right in our grease resistant bags and not a spot could be found, even days after we filled them! These bags are champs!
You can purchase my new original design in my Etsy store now. Or go to my sample section to try them our yourself!
Last weekend the family hit the beach to celebrate 10 years of marriage. I am so blessed to have a great man by my side who laughs with me and supports all of my wild dreams. I wish the same kind of love for all of my wedding clients!
I brought a how-to sketch book with me and my untalented hands actually pulled it off! You can see my poppy pencil drawing on two new seed packet favors in my store now!
