I feel as though I can work in words, and I love to do it. I can be descriptive, funny, and imaginative. But when it comes to grammar and spelling - leave me out of it! My husband does ALL my proof reading. If a post of mine is in proper English you can be sure he read it and helped me. If not, he was too busy - sorry! I don't think I'm alone in the fight to sound knowledgeable when feeling completely incompetent. You might be using spell check and google just as much as I do, so I'm adding some wedding grammar tips here for you. If you are one of my clients we'll also try to stick to these few rules together.
Here are some things I picked up in my research. I'm not going to call it the Bible on wedding grammar but I think it will pass the test.
- you don't need much punctuation :: Mr. and Mrs., after the day, and hyphens for some times
- you don't need an "and" in "Two thousand and ten" just say "Two thousand ten"
- use "five o'clock" or "five-thirty" in the evening
- leave out the zip code
- don't use "&" - but I still will because I like it with the design sometimes
I found these two sources to be very helpful when it comes to grammar
