A tiny girl with a light saber is funny, but add that she yells at the top of her lungs, "HATTACK!!", and well, that can make you roll on the floor. Until she very seriously clocks you in the ear. And that's what's happening now.
It's 4 o'clock which means I still have a lot to do but the kids are pulling my focus right down into crazy-town. Happy Tuesday!
Five whole days with not a drop of internet - it was like I entered a time warp that stopped the chaos and brought on the fun! I loved being away with my family doing a lot of our very favorite things. TIm and I hit the Southern California Half Marathon and 5k (we did the 5k and I worked hard for a new personal record). Then the Aquarium of the Pacific, and finally, the big one - Disneyland! Thanks for waiting for me!
Tim and I are still doing project 365. This is my picture for Dec 29th. An unexpected present from my Dad. I'm sorry I just made you jealous!
It's very hard to get a little work done around here. Tim is out of school and some friends are in town and I just want to PLAY! Luckily I don't have a full client load but I'm also leaving for vacation on the 6th so I feel like I should kick it into gear here....next week for SURE!

I love being a stationery designer/printer sometimes. It can really come in handy in a pinch.....
So, Grant has a great Kindergarten teacher and I was thinking about a teacher Christmas present tonight. And it came to me - something awesome I can do for FREE!
I had Grant draw a picture of his school and his teacher.
I scanned it and roughly traced it in Illustrator.
Then I finished it up on a 5x7 sheet in Photoshop.
I printed on card stock that I don't sell anymore at mavora.etsy.com and used some leftover colored envelopes that have been in the filing cabinet for a while.
Bada-bing bada-boom! Super cute teacher stationery right!? I just pulled that out of NOWHERE!
I had a free hour - weird I know! So I played with my Calli, 18 months old.
Monday was the last of our summer galavanting around the water park. Grant is in kindergarden this week. I don't know where the time went but I remember having some REALLY really good times. Love to my little boy!
And there are my fingers STILL taped up. It seems I've torn a ligament at the volleyball tournament. It will be another few weeks before I can flip anyone off again.....I don't actually do that, but sometimes it's good to know you could if you wanted to. At least I get out of doing some of the dishes.
September is my favorite month! I try to go to Tahoe more as it's the off season for tourists but perfect for kayaking, I get to walk Grant to school, and my garden explodes with Tomatoes. Today Grant asked for apples but we didn't have any - and then I remembered our giant apple tree! Duh, huh? We rent so it's still kinda new to me and last year the apples were pretty small and sour and I used them for green smoothies but that's about it. Well, today I really hunted, stood on a chair, and the kids are eating apples upon apples for snack time, so good job apple tree! Happy September to you!
Some of you know I have another part time job working for my church in the design and communication field. We just got new offices last month and I finally went in to work for a few hours. It was nice to change my scenery and focus for a bit. And then back to reality as I come home to my desk I left for just two hours - Cootied!
Someday I'm going to work on a super sharp desk in a super organized and beautiful office - but it probably won't make me happier then this - calmer, but not happier.
We've been messing around a lot over here lately but today TIm goes back to full-time school! And next week my little guy Grant goes to Kindergarden!! What!? I'm sure we're bound to get into a routine soon with soccer practice, church, school, work, and play... right? But yes, once again I'm worried about how this will all come together, especially now that we have just one car. I miss summer already!!

Today celebrates 6 years of marriage! I forgot until 11:00 this morning because we officially partied thursday and friday. I lined up a sitter and planted a note: Meet me at Roxy's for drinks at 6. Got a new super hot dress and waited for my man at the bar as the pianist played Taylor Swift, December. It was SO exciting to meet up outside the house, and later slip him a key to my hotel room. So here's my reminder to you - do something WAY out of the ordinary and don't wait for your partner to do it for you.

I'm back from the Ruby Mountains with pictures and inspiration but I'n NOT rested yet. Camping with two kids in a tent for a week is a lot of fun and a lot of work! I'm still on vacation until Monday the 22nd so I'll see you then!
